About CAL LAND Title

CAL LAND has been active in the Marin Community for 50 years and operates in four locations, San Rafael, Greenbrae, Mill Valley and Novato. It all began when the company was founded in 1955 by Dr. Earl Young, as Trans Western Title Company. In November of 1981, Consolidated Title Services (CTS) was formed as a holding company to purchase Trans Western Title Company DBA California Land Title Company of Marin. At that time the company was small, with only 21 employees, and was located on Fifth Street in San Rafael, with three branch offices.

The Company's growth mushroomed through 1987, and became Marin County's #1 Title and Escrow Company, employing a staff of ninety-two employees throughout the four offices. In May of 1987 the company moved into our own newly built headquarters, CAL LAND PLAZA at 700 Irwin Street in San Rafael.

The success of California Land Title of Marin is based in its commitment to quality employees and their dedication to providing superior service. As part of this commitment, they "get involved" in Marin and the industry, serving on many Boards and Commissions throughout the state and county, including the Marin County Escrow Association, Marin Builder's Exchange, Marin County Board of Realtors, MAR Governmental Relations Committee, Northbay Family Homes, CLTA and Novato's 2028 Strategic Planning Task Force, to name a few. In 2003, CAL LAND was named Business of the Year and nationally rated #1 in Customer Satisfaction for the San Francisco / Oakland metropolitan statistical area by The Title Report.

In April of 2004, the company was acquired by Stewart Title Co. Stewart Title Company is a technology driven, strategically competitive, global real estate information company.
